The Meetings of President

AMU PRESIDENT MEETINGS

1. International Congress of Mathematicians, July 30 to 10 August, Rio De Janero, Brazil. (With effective attendance of the AMU President to the IMU General Assembly in Sao Paulo and contribution of AMU in the CDC Panel, of ICM 2018 in RIOwith a presentation posters , and flyers, in RIO).

The AMU President attended the IMU General Assembly held in Sao Paulo during the two days 28th and 29th June 2018, and ICM 2018 held at Rion De Janeiro from 30Th July to 10th August. She contributed with a presentation on AMU (5mn) at the IMU GA, and with a presentation (10mn) , a TV interview, a poster and flyers for the CDC Panel " Strengthening mathematics in the developping countries "

2. AMU Extraordinary General Assembly , and first AMU Executive Committee meeting : 23-26 September 2018.

An AMU Extraordinary General Assembly was convened by the AMU Executive Committee and held during 24 September at the Sciences Faculty in Rabat. Il was chaired by the AMU President, ten among the twelve AMU Executive Committee members attended the meeting, as well as outstanding AMU members.

3. Francophone Mathematical Space 22-26 Octobre 2018, Paris.

The AMU President attended the Francophone Mathematical Space held in Paris from 22th to 26th October 2018. She contributed in the Pleanary Lecture “Three voice conference”.

4. Conference on Partial Differential Equations and Applications (Conference in Honor of Prof. Hamidou Touré), University Ouaga 1, 5-9 November, 2018, Burkina- Faso ( with the parternship of AMU )

The AMU President attended the conference. She contributed with a tribute to Prof Hamidou Touré.

5. The AMMSI- Phillip Grifiths Prize 2018 Ceremony, 8th November 2019, Ouaga, Burkina Faso.

The AMMSI-Phiilip Griffiths Prize 2018 was awarded to Prof. Khalil Ezzinbi (Cadi Ayyad University, Marrakech , Morocco) in ouaga, 8th November 2018 in presence of the President hamidou Touré, the Executive Director Wandera Ogana and the Regional coordinator for North Africa Nouzha El Yacoubi who gave an address presenting the Winner.

6. Satellite Conference on African Women in Mathematics ( 22-23 November 2018) in the frame work of the SAMSA (Southern Africa Mathematical Sciences Association) 2018 conference (19th to 22th November, 2018), Botswana International University of Sciences and Technology . Botswana. (In collaboration with the AMU Commission for African Women in Mathematics and effective participation of AMU).

AMU was represented by its President for the SAMSA 2018 conference. She contributed as Key note speaker for the satellite conference on African Women in Mathematics STIMATH 2018. AMU-CAWM was represented by Prof. Eunice Mureithi (AMU-CAWM Chairperson)

7. African Women in Mathematics Association (AWMA) Workshop, 6th & 7th December 2018, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia

AMU was represented by its President. She contributed with a speach at the Opening Ceremony.

8. 8th International Conference on Mathematics and Information Sciences (ICMIS) & 2cd OBADA Prize Award Ceremony. 8-10 February, 2019, Cairo, Egypt.

AMU has been represented by the President. She contributed as invited speaker and also as member of the selection Committee for the 2cd OBADA Prize.

9. 21st L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards Ceremony, held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Thursday 14th March.

The AMU President attended the ceremony upon an official invitation. For the first time l’Oréal UNESCO prize 2019 was open to Mathematics and Computer Sciences. Two women mathematicians have been awarded:
Professor Ingrid DAUBECHIES – Mathematics / Mathematical physics Professor of Mathematics and Electrical and Computer Engineering, Duke University, United States
Professor Claire VOISIN – Mathematics / Algebraic geometry Professor at the Collège de France and former researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)

10. Mathematics Day for development” , UNESCO, 15th March 2019, organized by CIMPA and CNRS in the partnership with the Academy of Sciences of France.

Prof Nouzha El Yacoubi has been an Honorary member of the Event. She represented AMU.

11. 27th Pan African Mathematics Olympiads (PAMO 2019), 31st march-7th April 2019, AIMS Cape Town, South Africa.

Prof Nouzha El Yacoubi attended PAMO 2019 as MEDIATOR (Chair of the Problems Committee) and in her capacity of AMU President. She delivered a speech at the PAMO 2019 Prize Giving Ceremony.
